Why I started ChucktownAI

Local business owners aren't tech experts. They don't want to be.

That isn't a knock. They got good at the work that actually pays. Then they got told they needed a CRM, a booking tool, a new site, a chatbot, another subscription. None of that is the job they signed up for. So they buy whatever looks closest, pay too much for it, and still do the leftover themselves at night.

The software covers most of the job. Most is not 100%. The last part never quite matches how the business actually runs, and there is no tech person in their corner who will build the missing piece. So they keep paying, and they keep bringing the leftover home. Dinner becomes follow-up. Family time becomes admin.

They should have tools that save time so they can spend it with their families. That is why I started ChucktownAI.

I'm not here to sell another product that almost works. I build the part that doesn't fit. Custom software and automations around the work they already do, not another login they have to work around. Weekdays I am a product engineer at Kitbash, on Cargo. I still take calls after dinner from people who run businesses in Charleston. They should get that person without hiring a department.

I have a real ship, not a pitch. A Charleston childcare organization was running enrollment, parent communication, and daily operations on a dated WordPress site and a pile of spreadsheets. An agency quote for that kind of rebuild is usually a quarter, sometimes longer. I shipped a parent portal, an admin dashboard, and the public site in under two weeks. Some client names stay off this site because they asked.

That is what a tech person in your corner actually looks like. Not a new tool. A system that fits the work, so the leftover does not come home.

I'm not trying to replace anyone. The owners I talk to can't hire fast enough. Their people are stuck on callbacks, inbox, and scheduling instead of the work that pays, and the owner is still doing follow-up at night. When that busywork moves, the family gets an evening back and the business can take more work. More work needs more people.

If the tool you already bought almost fits, that last piece is still costing you evenings. I can build the part that is missing. Get in touch.
